Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support a team of Air Conditioning Engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for service and reactive maintenance.
• Review engineer reports and identify remedial actions.
• Coordinate and oversee service, maintenance and reactive scheduling.
• Monitor workloads to ensure efficient service delivery and contractual compliance.
• Prepare quotations and pricing for servicing, reactive maintenance, and small installations.
• Identify revenue opportunities from service visits and reports.
• Support planning, costing and delivery of larger air conditioning projects.
• Source and manage subcontract labour where required.
• Liaise with manufacturers regarding parts availability and pricing.
• Ensure PPM schedules are delivered and compliant.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and accreditations.
• Support recruitment and development of engineering staff.
• Attend client meetings providing technical expertise.

You will oversee a small team of engineers, manage service operations, support commercial activities, and play a key role in the growth and development of the air conditioning division. Working closely with senior leadership, you will have genuine influence over departmental strategy, operational improvements, and long‑term growth plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support a team of Air Conditioning Engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance for service and reactive maintenance works.

• Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications and accreditations.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of engineering staff.
• Attend client meetings and provide technical expertise when required.
• Drive continuous improvement across service delivery, processes and departmental performance.

Candidate Requirements

• Essential Strong background within the commercial air conditioning industry.
• Previous experience in a Service Manager, Supervisor, Senior Engineer or similar leadership position.
• Excellent technical knowledge of air conditioning systems, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Experience managing or supervising engineering teams.
• Ability to interpret technical reports and produce accurate quotations.
• Strong understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) contracts.
• Commercial awareness, including labour costing, materials, margins and project profitability.
• Good understanding of current industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Desirable Experience working with Mitsubishi and other leading HVAC manufacturers.
• Experience pricing remedial works, maintenance contracts and minor installations.
