Job summary

Engineering Personnel Ltd is seeking an Air Conditioning Engineer / Manager for a Shaftesbury-based client. The role starts on the tools and offers progression into management, with potential to build a dedicated service and breakdown team and lead upgrades for commercial properties.

You will conduct service, maintenance and fault-finding on AC systems, oversee subcontractors, manage budgets and client relationships, and help develop the department within a growing HVAC contractor.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Air Conditioning.
• F-Gas 2079.
• 5+ years experience as Air Conditioning Engineer.
• Full UK Driving License.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service, maintenance, and fault-finding on AC systems including splits, vrv's, and vrf's.
• Complete system upgrades and energy efficiency improvements.
• Oversee sub-contractors.
• Assist in the growth of the department.
• Work closely with the Managing Director to build a new air conditioning department.
• Build and maintain client relationships and provide technical support.
• Set budgets, team targets, and procurement in collaboration with management.
• Oversee installations and test new installations.
• Diagnose faults and provide effective technical solutions.

Air Conditioning Engineer / Manager

Air Conditioning Engineer / Manager required for our client they are a well known, reputable, and award winning HVAC contractor based in Shaftesbury. They operate across the South Coast, primarily the south central area providing 24/7 emergency services, planned preventative maintenance, system design and installation works. They're currently looking to expand on their air conditioning maintenance and repairs team due to recent contract wins. They are looking for an experienced engineer or air conditioning manager to help build a team a new service and breakdown team. The position comes with excellent growth and progression opportunity, initially starting on the tools before progressing into management, and later senior leadership team.

Air Conditioning Engineer / Manager Duties

• Carry out service, maintenance, and fault-finding on AC systems including splits, vrv's, and vrf's
• Complete system upgrades and energy efficiency improvements
• Oversee sub-contractors
• Assist in the growth of the department
• Work closely with the Managing Director to build a new air conditioning department
• Build and work on existing client relationships
• Act as technical support for the internal office team
• Work with the managing director to set budgets, team targets, and procurement
• Oversee installations of air conditioning systems
• Commission and test new installations
• Diagnose faults and provide effective technical solutions
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service in commercial properties and occasionally domestic sites
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with current regulations
• Maintain accurate job records and communicate clearly with the office team

Air Conditioning Engineer / Manager Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Air Conditioning
• The position would suit an experienced air conditioning engineer, air conditioning manager, or sales manager with on the tools air conditioning background
• F-Gas 2079
• 5+ years experience working as an Air Conditioning Engineer
• Based within a commutable distance of Shaftesbury
• Full UK Driving License

Air Conditioning Engineer / Manager Remuneration

• Salary £55,000 - £68,000
• Company van, including personal use
• Overtime available
• Working hours Mon - Fri, 8:00 - 17:00 (40 hours per week)
• 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
