Job summary

Stallion Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Air Conditioning Service Manager to lead a small team of engineers from its client site in Hertfordshire. The role combines technical management, service planning, quotations and commercial responsibility.

You will manage workloads, review reports, price remedial and service works, and liaise with clients and suppliers to ensure profitable project delivery. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Air Conditioning background is required.
• Experience as AC Service Manager, Supervisor or Senior Engineer is essential.
• Experience pricing remedial and service works.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a small team of commercial Air Conditioning Engineers.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to engineers when required.
• Review engineer reports and assist with technical fault diagnosis.
• Monitor engineer workloads and the service planner.
• Ensure service, reactive and remedial works are scheduled and completed within agreed timescales.
• Ensure service contracts and PPM requirements are correctly planned and managed.
• Price and quote AC servicing, reactive works, remedial works and small installations.
• Produce accurate quotations based on engineer reports and site requirements.
• Liaise with clients regarding technical issues and proposed works where required.
• Assist with technical meetings and client discussions.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical issues, parts, pricing and availability.
• Support the Managing Director with larger AC projects.
• Assist with project planning, costing, labour requirements and delivery.
• Source suitable engineers, labour and subcontractors for larger projects.
• Help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
• Assist with recruitment, training and development as the AC department grows.
• Maintain industry registrations, affiliations, certifications and training requirements.
• Ensure relevant AC industry legislation, regulations and compliance requirements are maintained.
• Help improve departmental processes, reporting, efficiency and profitability.

Stallion Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced and technically capable Air Conditioning Service Manager to join a growing AC department, based from our client's head office in Hertfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer, Senior Engineer, Supervisor or Service Manager looking to take the next step into a role combining technical management, service planning, quotations and commercial responsibility.

THE ROLE

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Strong commercial Air Conditioning background.
• Previous experience as an AC Service Manager, Supervisor, Senior Engineer or similar.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial AC systems.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Strong servicing and PPM experience.
• Experience pricing remedial and service works.
• Ability to interpret engineer reports and identify required works.
• Experience producing quotations and understanding project costs.
• Previous experience managing or supervising engineers.
• Good commercial understanding of labour, materials, margins and profitability.
• Knowledge of relevant AC legislation and industry requirements.
• Mitsubishi experience and knowledge of other major manufacturers would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

THE PERSON

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded individual who understands the realities of working within the commercial AC industry.

This is not a purely office-based management position. You will need to be comfortable supporting engineers with technical issues, understanding site problems, reviewing reports and making informed decisions around remedial works and pricing.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and have genuine responsibility for helping develop and grow the AC service department.
