Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join our client’s facilities management team in Manchester. The role is mobile, covering Manchester and surrounding areas, and requires working across HVAC maintenance, service and fault finding to keep client sites running smoothly.

The successful candidate will have experience with pressure leak tests, compressor changes, and brazing, plus a Full UK driving licence and F-Gas Cat 1 certification.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer in facilities management.
• F-Gas Cat 1 Regulations certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including installation, maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with refrigeration principles and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot air conditioning systems (split, VRV/VRF, chillers).
• Perform routine maintenance: clean coils, replace filters, move parts.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Inspect HVAC systems to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Coordinate repairs with other maintenance staff and contractors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

CBW Staffing Solutions are seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join our clients team of facilities management professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC maintenance and repair, responsible for maintaining and servicing air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and end-client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience of pressure leak tests, compressor changes and braising.

This is a mobile role, covering Manchester & surrounding areas.

Package

• Competitive salary between £42,000 - £46,000 per annum (depending on experience)

• Core hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
• Participation in an out of hours on call rota (to be confirmed)

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot a variety of air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and chillers
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, moving parts, to prolong the lifespan of HVAC equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning units, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
• Conduct inspections and assessments of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and contractors to coordinate complex repairs and system upgrades
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to promote a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer or similar role within the facilities management industry
• Hold your F-Gas Cat 1 Regulations certification
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair techniques
• Familiarity with refrigeration principles and equipment
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
