Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions seeks an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a site-based role near Leicester. The engineer will maintain, service and troubleshoot varied HVAC systems, including split, VRV/VRF and chillers, and will participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

The ideal candidate holds F-Gas Cat 1 certification, with strong knowledge of HVAC installation and repair, and a proven ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer in facilities management or similar.
• F-Gas Cat 1 Regulations certification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC installation, maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with refrigeration principles and equipment.
• Skilled at diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Excellent problem solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot air conditioning systems (split, VRV/VRF, chillers).
• Perform routine maintenance to prolong HVAC equipment life.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Inspect HVAC systems and propose improvements or solutions.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors for complex repairs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

CBW Staffing Solutions are seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join our clients team of facilities management professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC maintenance and repair, responsible for maintaining and servicing air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and end-client satisfaction.

This is a site based opportunity, located near Leicester, Leicestershire.

Package:

• Competitive salary of up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Core hours are Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot a variety of air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and chillers
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, moving parts, to prolong the lifespan of HVAC equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning units, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
• Conduct inspections and assessments of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and contractors to coordinate complex repairs and system upgrades
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to promote a safe working environment

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer or similar role within the facilities management industry
• Hold your F-Gas Cat 1 Regulations certification
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair techniques
• Familiarity with refrigeration principles and equipment
