Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Model Governance Manager (Data Science) to lead scalable AI governance across our data science initiatives. You will partner with data scientists, model owners, and governance stakeholders to drive approvals, maintain inventories, ensure regulatory compliance, and evolve a scalable governance framework enabling responsible AI innovation.

Qualifications

• Data science background with hands-on ML experience (training/validation/deployment).
• Experience or strong interest in AI/model governance and risk management.
• Strong organizational skills, end-to-end process ownership with documented records.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day AI/model approval and review processes with timely turnaround.
• Maintain model inventory and 3rd party AI software as authoritative records.
• Serve as the primary contact for governance requirements with data scientists and owners.
• Track health of model portfolio and governance processes; report findings.
• Improve governance products to support approvals and inventory management.
• Identify opportunities for automation and self-service capabilities.
• Support governance policy evolution and risk assessment methodologies.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for compliance and risk management.
