Job summary

Elsevier is seeking an AI Governance Manager within Data Science to operate and enhance AI governance processes, partnering with data scientists, model owners and governance stakeholders to support model approvals, inventory management, regulatory compliance and scalable governance framework evolution for responsible AI innovation.

You will own day-to-day AI/model approval workflows, maintain the model inventory, support governance policy evolution, and drive automation opportunities while

Qualifications

• Hands-on data science/ML experience including building or deploying models.
• Familiarity with AI governance or model risk management concepts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to own end-to-end processes.
• Understanding of AI data regulations and standards.
• Proactive mindset for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own and run day-to-day AI/model approval and review processes, ensuring timely turnaround.
• Maintain the model inventory as the authoritative record of models in development and production.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for AI software requests and governance requirements.
• Track and report on the health of the model portfolio and governance processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation and self-service capabilities.
• Support governance policy development and risk assessment methodologies.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for compliance and risk activities.
