Job summary

Elsevier is seeking an AI Governance Manager to lead and evolve governance processes in Data Science, partnering with model owners and governance stakeholders to support approvals, inventory, and regulatory compliance.

You will help shape a scalable governance framework, drive automation opportunities, and maintain audit-ready documentation while promoting responsible AI innovation across projects.

Qualifications

• Data science background with hands-on ML experience.
• Interest or experience in AI/model governance or risk management.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to own end-to-end processes with structured records.
• Understanding of AI/data regulation and standards.
• Continuous-improvement mindset.
• Strong communication to explain governance to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to long-term framework design.
• Experience with model inventory, MLOps, or model risk management tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own and run day-to-day AI/model approval and review processes.
• Maintain the third-party software and model inventory as the authoritative record.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for governance requirements.
• Track and report on the health of the model portfolio and approval processes.
• Manage and improve governance products supporting approvals and inventory management.
• Identify opportunities for automation and self-service capabilities.
• Support governance policy evolution, standards, and risk methodologies.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for compliance and risk activities.
