Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an AI Forward Deployed Engineer who will be the technical owner of customer deployments, embedding with accounts to unblock production. You will scope high‑stakes deals, deliver on what you scoped, and tackle capacity, latency, and integration challenges, while guiding clients on model choices and deployment paths.

We value first principles thinking, a strong background in backend systems, and fluency with Python and at least one systems language.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with backend systems and infrastructure.
• Strong Python and at least one systems language; comfortable in unfamiliar codebases and customer environments.
• Fluent in AI-assisted engineering and tooling; understands when to trust outputs.
• Experience with modern generative AI concepts: inference, serving, deployment options.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical outcome of customer deployments end to end, from architecture through production.
• Design, scope, and run proof-of-value pilots inside customer environments with clear success criteria.
• Act as the technical owner on complex pre-signature deals and carry them through delivery.
• Diagnose and resolve capacity, performance, integration, and model‑selection issues.
• Guide customers to the right models, deployment tiers, and optimization paths.
• Provide structured feedback from the field to product and engineering.
