Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an AI Forward Deployed Engineer who will own customer deployments end to end, embedding with accounts to deploy, optimize, and productionize models in customers’ environments.

You will design pilots, scope complex deals pre-signature, and unblock capacity, performance, and integration issues. The role emphasizes first-principles thinking, customer-facing collaboration, and strong Python and systems-language skills.

Qualifications

• First principles and critical thinking: reason to solutions without a reference implementation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer with backend/infrastructure focus.
• Strong coding in Python and at least one systems language.
• Fluent in AI-assisted/agentic engineering and responsible for using AI tooling appropriately.
• Working knowledge of modern generative AI: inference, serving, deployment options.

Responsibilities

• Deployment ownership: own the technical outcome end to end from architecture to production.
• Embedded pilots: design, scope, run proof-of-value pilots in customer environments.
• Pre-signature scoping: act as technical owner on complex deals and carry through delivery.
• Unblocking: diagnose/correct capacity, performance, integration, model-selection issues.
• Model and platform fit: guide customers to right models, deployment tiers, and optimization paths.
• Product signal: feed field insights back to product/engineering.
