Job summary

Ocho in Belfast is seeking an AI-focused software engineer within Context Engineering. This role blends coaching, facilitation and hands-on build to help teams adopt responsible AI in live delivery work.

You'll move between technical depth and clear explanation, shaping how the organisation uses AI across the software delivery lifecycle, while ensuring outputs are secure, maintainable and genuinely useful. Hybrid work 2 days in Belfast.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in software engineering or application development.
• Experience with AI-driven engineering tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q/Kiro).
• Experience with agentic AI workflows and steering techniques for reliable automation.
• Strong OOP skills (Java, Python or C#).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available).
• Familiarity with RAG architectures, embeddings and context management.
• Experience with containerisation/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and QA processes.
• Awareness of security and compliance best practice.

Responsibilities

• Shape how the organisation uses AI across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Take practical AI use cases from idea through to production.
• Support engineers and product teams as they adopt new ways of working.
• Create guidance, examples and reusable patterns that make AI easier to use well.
• Ensure alignment with architectural patterns, coding standards and performance.
• Coach and facilitate as much as you build.
