Job summary

Ocho People is seeking an AI Developer Tooling Lead in Belfast. The role sits within the DevOps team and focuses on defining and accelerating enterprise-wide adoption of AI developer tools, ensuring secure, cost-effective usage and measurable business value at scale.

The position blends technical ownership with cost management and stakeholder engagement, requiring 5+ years in software engineering and experience with AI tooling and platform observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in software engineering or application development.
• Experience with AI-driven engineering tools (Kiro, Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Compound Engineering).
• Experience designing developer productivity metrics or platform observability in large organisations.
• Stakeholder management across engineering, finance and procurement.
• Experience with usage-based billing/FinOps or cloud cost management.
• Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Own and improve AI tooling approach across Copilot, Kiro and other tools.
• Configure and manage tools for security, compliance and enterprise standards.
• Support tiered tooling model by role, need, value and risk.
• Manage licensing, seat allocation, usage visibility and cost controls.
• Build reporting on adoption, usage, value, cost and productivity.
• Partner with Security, Risk, Compliance and Finance for responsible use.
• Create guidance to help teams use AI tooling safely and effectively.
