Job summary

Ocho People is seeking an Agentic AI Platform Engineer to build and maintain a secure AWS-based platform used for enterprise AI products. You will drive ideas from design to production, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency while shaping the platform roadmap.

The role is hands-on with real influence over architecture, services, and tooling, in a Belfast-based hybrid work model (2 days in office).

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in software engineering, with significant microservice-driven Java experience.
• Strong AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• Experience with AWS AI services, particularly Bedrock.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and DevOps in an Agile environment.
• Experience with AI-driven engineering tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q/Kiro).
• Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the AWS-based platform used across the business for AI products.
• Take ideas from design into reliable, production-ready services.
• Apply the platform to real use cases and support it once live.
• Solve practical problems around reliability, quality and cost.
• Create reusable engineering patterns for other teams to build on.
• Partner closely with QA, Product, Architecture and Production Support
