Job summary

Adepta Partners in Belfast is seeking Software Engineers to join a team pioneering AI-enabled software engineering. The role focuses on agentic AI workflows, using AI tools to improve the SDLC and drive adoption across the business.

You will build AI-enabled software from concept to production, collaborate across engineering, architecture, security and QA, and mentor teams on best practices. A CS/SE degree or equivalent and 3+ years’ experience are required; permanent NI work eligibility is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
• 3+ years' commercial experience in software engineering (full-stack).
• Hands-on experience with AI-driven engineering tools and agentic AI workflows.
• Strong OOP skills using Java, Python or C#.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP and software security best practices.

• Explore and implement agentic AI workflows for reliable automation.

Location: Belfast – Hybrid (2 days per week in office)

They’re looking for Software Engineers who have been immersed in ‘Agentic Engineering’; using AI coding tools as a fundamental tenet of your day-to‑day.

The Software Engineer won’t just write code. You'll explore how AI can improve the entire SDLC, whilst driving AI Adoption internally + ensuring quality output!

Ultimately you will think about what tools to use, help teams adopt best practices and see if other teams can benefit too!

Looking at AI-coding zero to 1. Think research, planning, building, implementing, coaching and working cross‑functionally!

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll:

• Hands‑on experience with AI‑driven engineering tools, such as:

-Cursor

-Compound Engineering or similar approaches/tools

• Experience with agentic AI workflows and steering techniques for reliable automation
• Strong OOP skills using Java, Python or C#
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP
• Strong understanding of software engineering standards, architecture and performance
• Must be permanently based in Northern Ireland with the relevant Right to Work
• RAG architectures, embeddings and context management
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Software security best practices and compliance
• Automated testing frameworks and QA processes

AWS certification or equivalent cloud certification
