Job summary

MCS Group is recruiting an AI Solutions Engineer (Senior/Lead) for Belfast in a hybrid permanent role. You will work closely with clients to understand their environments and challenges, and design AI-driven solutions on a modern platform.

You will lead and mentor engineers, prototype rapidly, and translate complex problems into practical AI-enabled outcomes. A strong software background with Python and cloud experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software engineering (Python ideally).
• Experience building production systems or platforms.
• Comfortable working with APIs, data and modern cloud environments.
• Exposure to AI/LLMs, or strong interest in this space.
• Ability to work with clients and translate problems into solutions.
• Someone who enjoys ambiguity and solving new problems.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to understand their environment and challenges.
• Identify opportunities where AI can solve real problems.
• Design and architect bespoke solutions on a modern AI platform.
• Collaborate with engineers to build, test and refine solutions.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate based on real feedback.
• (Lead level) Support and mentor other engineers, helping shape delivery.
