Job summary

AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch) invites a Forward Deployed Engineer II to work directly with strategic enterprise customers, designing, building, deploying and operating AI-powered production systems. You own the end-to-end AI workstreams, mentor teammates, and drive measurable business outcomes while embedding within customer engineering teams.

Travel 30-50% is required as you collaborate across locations and customer sites, delivering production-grade software and scalable AI solutions with

Qualifications

• Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with agentic and spec-driven development (developing AI agents a plus).
• Experience with AI tools: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Embed within customer engineering teams to understand the business and customer value of the systems you build.
• Design and develop production-grade software powering AI and agentic workflows; integrate data sources and existing apps.
• Own production for the workstream across the lifecycle including deployment and monitoring.
• Mentor and uplift team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Accelerate customer adoption by codifying reusable patterns and accelerators.
