The Citation Group is seeking an AI Architect to lead the AI/Data architecture area and sit alongside the broader architecture function. You will own AI-specific patterns, decision frameworks, and governance, reporting centrally to the Chief AI Officer while embedded in the delivery area you serve.

Role emphasizes architectural leadership, production-ready AI systems, and collaboration with Product, Security, and Infrastructure to ensure consistent, auditable design decisions across initiatives.

Qualifications

• Senior — 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Define AI architecture standards and patterns for retrieval, grounding, and tool-calling.
• Own model selection framework (open-weight vs closed) and cost-aware decisions.
• Ensure security, governance, and cost observability for AI initiatives.
• Review vendor Statements of Work from an architectural perspective before commitments.
• Lead design reviews and provide architectural guidance across AI/Data initiatives.
