Job summary

The Citation Group in Manchester is seeking an AI Architect to lead the AI/data architecture within the delivery area, reporting to the Chief AI Officer. This senior role requires 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture with hands-on production AI experience.

You will establish patterns, govern AI decisions, and ensure security, cost visibility, and architectural risk management across projects, working with cross-functional teams to embed standards.

Qualifications

• Senior level AI/ data/ platform architecture experience.
• Hands-on time with production AI systems, not just pilots.
• Ability to influence across Product, Engineering, Security and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own AI architecture standards and patterns across the AI/data domain.
• Balance open-weight and closed models with a governance framework.
• Manage token cost, observability, and cost per outcome in production.
• Engage Security early in AI initiatives and sign off on AI design elements.
• Review partner Statements of Work from an architectural perspective.
