Job summary

Citygate Automotive Ltd is seeking an Aftersales Manager to oversee the Technical Service Department and work closely with Customer Service to achieve quality and customer care objectives.

You will lead and develop a team, manage profitability, budgets, and KPI delivery, and ensure high standards across the service and parts operation while maintaining excellent customer service. A full driving licence is required, and the role offers growth within a multi-brand, UK-wide dealer group.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Aftersales Manager in a main dealer.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to maximise profit while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Stable track record in managing an Aftersales department with profitable results.
  • A full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Technical Service Department, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with manufacturer and group standards.
  • Drive departmental performance, profitability and KPI achievement through cost control, budgeting and commercial management.
  • Recruit, develop and performance-manage staff with training and development plans to maintain high technical standards.
  • Lead and manage the Parts Department, ensuring efficient operations, stock control and strong commercial performance while delivering exceptional service.
  • Monitor work in progress, cash flow, trade and warranty debtors, and produce regular performance reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and communicate relevant information to the team.
  • Continually improve customer care standards and attend meetings and training sessions to support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as an Aftersales Manager will be to:

  • Lead and manage the Technical Service Department, ensuring efficient operations and full compliance with manufacturer and group standards
  • Drive departmental performance, profitability, and KPI achievement through effective cost control, budgeting, and commercial management
  • Recruit, develop, and performance-manage staff, implementing training and development plans to maintain high technical standards
  • Lead and manage the Parts Department, ensuring efficient operations, accurate stock control, and strong commercial performance while delivering exceptional service to workshop, bodyshop, and retail customers
  • Monitor work in progress, cash flow, trade and warranty debtors, and produce regular performance reports
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and communicate relevant information to the team
  • Continually improve customer care standards and attend relevant meetings and training sessions to support business objectives
About You

As an Aftersales Manager you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience working as an Aftersales Manager within a main dealer
  • You will have the ability to lead, manage and motivate your team to maximise every profit opportunity, whilst delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
  • You must have a stable and proven track record in managing an Aftersales department and be able to demonstrate delivering a profitable result
  • A full clean driving licence
