Job summary

Ultra I&C is seeking a Systems Engineer based in Maidenhead to support the Litening laser designation pod program under the C2I Operational Business Unit. The role involves analysis of in-service issues, safety and airworthiness, and liaison with UK and international stakeholders to deliver solutions on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• Willing and able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
• Extensive experience in the military avionics domain at the aircraft systems level.
• Degree educated in engineering or equivalent knowledge of airborne electro optic systems.
• Extensive experience or qualifications related to aircraft systems safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-depth analysis of RAF in-service issues with development of solutions and recommendations.
• Manage safety and airworthiness to comply with regulations.
• Coordinate with programme management to ensure timely, on-budget deliverables.
• Liaise with international stakeholders (BAE Systems, Airbus, UK MoD, RAF, international air forces) to maintain Ultra’s profile.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities related to the Litening pods.
• Coordinate technical planning and embodiment of modifications to airborne and ground equipment.
• Support field service technicians and programme management with technical reporting.
• Prepare and support customer integration, demonstrations and flight trials.
• Explain complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Generate and review proposals with accurate effort, cost, and risk estimates for bids.
