Job summary

Ultra Electronics Group in Maidenhead is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Litening pod program within the C2I Operational Business Unit. The role involves in-depth analysis of RAF in-service issues, safety and airworthiness assurance, and collaboration with international stakeholders to maintain Ultra's profile.

Applicants should have engineering qualifications, defence avionics experience, and the ability to present to UK and overseas partners.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be willing and able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
• Extensive experience in the military avionics domain at the aircraft systems level.
• Degree educated in engineering or equivalent knowledge of airborne electro optic systems.
• Extensive experience or qualifications related to aircraft systems safety.
• Experience presenting to UK and overseas suppliers, customers and end users.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-depth analysis of RAF in-service issues with solutions and recommendations.
• Ensure safety and airworthiness compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with programme management to deliver on time and on budget.
• Liaise with international stakeholders (BAE Systems, Airbus, UK MoD, RAF and others) to maintain Ultra's profile.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities related to the Litening pods.
• Plan and implement modifications to airborne and ground equipment to maintain capability.
• Support technical reporting to suppliers and customers and assist with contractual commitments.
• Prepare and support customer integrations, demonstrations and flight trials.
• Explain complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Prepare and review technical proposals with estimates for bids leading to awards.
• Manage information security per the company Security manual.
• Undertake any other duties as required.
