Job summary

GKN Aerospace in Luton is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Electronics) to lead design and analysis for ice protection systems and related technologies. You will work across the product lifecycle, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver cutting-edge aerospace solutions.

The role requires a strong background in electronics and systems engineering, hands-on testing, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Essential: electrical or systems engineering degree or equivalent
• Experience delivering designs for electro-mechanical, sensing or controller systems
• PCB design experience
• Strong self-starter and ability to plan and execute tasks

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical work packages and meet research objectives
• Manage budget or work streams where applicable
• Lead development tests and trials to meet objectives
• Capture data and document results to high quality standards
• Support or lead external work packages with third parties
• Prepare Technology Development Plans and Technology Business Cases
• Ensure project planning documentation is up to date and on track
• Engage with stakeholders and potential exploitation routes
