Job summary

GKN Aerospace, manufacturing engineers are sought for our East Cowes site to advance composite manufacturing technologies, tooling, and assembly. You will contribute to zero-defect manufacturing through robust process development for civil aerospace programmes.

The role requires demonstrated experience in composites and the aerospace sector, with focus on problem solving, process capability, and lean improvements. Relocation assistance is available for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC qualification (or ONC) in Engineering or equivalent workplace experience.
• Experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within a composites-based environment.
• Composite hand-lay, prepreg processes and/or assembly of large aerostructures.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify a safety-first mindset and ensure HSE policy compliance.
• Develop manufacturing process solutions to complex problems.
• Implement production planning from concept to production with high process capability.
• Develop product first article, configurations, and build process definitions.
• Provide technical solutions across internal, customer, and supplier interfaces.
• Deliver process development and integration support for production.
• Apply root cause analysis, preventative and corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Continuously improve production processes through Lean initiatives.
• Apply APQP tools to problem solving.
