Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers for our East Cowes site, joining an Engineering department of 6-10 engineers. You will develop manufacturing process solutions and support production through successful implementation from concept to production.

The role emphasizes safety, Lean improvements, and APQP tools. Relocation assistance is available for UK mainland residents, and the team collaborates across civil and aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• HNC or ONC in engineering or related subject.
• Experience as Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace/composites.
• Knowledge of hand-lay, prepregs, or large aerostructures assembly.
• Familiar with ISO9000/AS9100/D1-9000 quality standards.
• Lean methods and APQP tools in problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify a safety-first mind-set and ensure compliance with policies.
• Develop manufacturing process solutions to complex problems.
• Implement production planning from concept to production with high process capability.
• Develop product development, first article development, and build process definitions.
• Provide technical solutions and support for manufacturing process development and integration.
• Utilise root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Continuously improve production processes via Lean initiatives.
• Apply APQP tools for problem solving.
