Job summary

GKN Aerospace seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support the special processes department and own a designated area. You will provide manufacturing engineering capability to programs, deliver robust process technology, and apply tools to maintain zero-defect standards.

You will work across production with Lean initiatives, issue resolution, and vendor quality control to improve efficiency and product quality within aerospace manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
• Fully competent in own field and developing skills in others.
• Ability to provide technical input at all levels of work.
• Technical representative for customer/supplier meetings.
• Identifies technical problems and offers solutions.
• Drives on-time completion and continuous improvement.
• Analyzes situations logically to determine action.

Responsibilities

• Provide Manufacturing Engineering capability to programs to enable zero-defect projects.
• Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration.
• Utilize root cause analysis and corrective action to reduce non-conformances.
• Support production with specialist knowledge to improve efficiency and quality.
• Implement Lean initiatives to continuously improve processes.
• Deploy processes with high process capability using ZDM tool suite.
• Resolve issues related to vendor quality.
• Provide specialist knowledge to production activities to improve efficiency.
