Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join our Product & Planning Team at East Cowes. Based at our East Cowes site and reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will work across Civil and Defence lines, delivering proficient manufacturing process technology for materials, tooling, fabrication and assembly.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible for limited travel nationally and internationally, with relocation assistance available for candidates

Qualifications

• HNC or ONC in an engineering subject with workplace experience.
• Experience as Manufacturing Engineer in composites-based manufacturing.
• Experience in aerospace or similar high‑tech manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ME skills: work instructions, problem solving, change management.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify safety mindset and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
• Develop manufacturing process solutions to complex problems.
• Implement production planning from concept to production, achieving high process capability.
• Develop product and first article development, configuration changes and build processes.
• Provide technical solutions within GKN Aerospace and with customers/suppliers.
• Deliver technical support for manufacturing process development and integration.
• Use root cause analysis to reduce non-conformances.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal/external customers and coworkers.
• Continuously improve production processes with Lean initiatives.
• Apply APQP tools for problem solving.
