Job summary

Skyfly Technologies Ltd seeks a Project Manager to lead engineering and technology programmes across defence and AXE commercial aircraft initiatives. The role emphasizes grant-funded work, with bids to Innovate UK and ATI, tracking milestones, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and risks, and act as a primary contact for external partners and funding bodies, reporting to the COO.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline; recognised project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP) is an advantage.
• Several years' experience in project or programme management, ideally within aerospace, defence, or engineering-led sectors.
• Demonstrable track record of writing successful funding bids, including Innovate UK and/or ATI competitions.
• Experience managing grant-funded programmes from award through to completion and final reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage delivery of engineering and technology projects across defence UAV/drone portfolio and AXE commercial aircraft programme.
• Lead and support the writing of funding bids, including Innovate UK, ATI, and other grant-funded competitions.
• Manage full lifecycle of Innovate UK / ATI funded programmes with milestone tracking, claims, reporting, and funder compliance.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and risk registers; mitigate schedule, cost, and technical risks.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions.
• Act as primary contact for external partners, consortium members, and funding bodies on assigned programmes.
• Prepare and present programme status reports, gate reviews, and updates to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Manage project documentation, version control, and change control processes.
