Age Scotland in Edinburgh seeks two Advice and Income Maximisation Advisers to join our Helpline team. You will provide high-quality information, advice and income maximisation support to older people, their families and carers, helping them understand rights and access financial support.
The role blends office work in Edinburgh with home-based delivery; flexible patterns and training opportunities are available as part of a friendly, values-driven charity.
Age Scotland is the national charity for older people. Our vision is that no one in Scotland faces the challenges of older age alone. We provide older people, their families and carers with high-quality information and advice services and we tackle loneliness through our dedicated friendship programmes. We campaign and influence on the issues older people tell us they care about. We support and fund hundreds of older people’s groups and community initiatives across the country and deliver workshops to improve people’s quality of life. We involve and empower people affected by dementia and host national forums for older people from ethnic minorities and the LGBTQ+ community to help address the inequalities they face.
At Age Scotland, we believe that older people should be able to access trusted information, advice and support when they need it most. We're looking for two enthusiastic and compassionate Advice and Income Maximisation Advisers to join our dedicated team and help make a real difference to the lives of older people across Scotland.
As part of our Helpline team, you will provide high-quality information, advice and income maximisation support to older people, their families and carers. You'll help people understand their rights, access financial support and navigate a range of later-life issues with confidence. Working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of our advice services and, from time to time, support the delivery of training sessions either virtually or in person. Experience of providing welfare rights, money advice, benefits advice or income maximisation support would be advantageous, but we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable advice and support experience.
The post will be Scotland-based, with a blend of office (Edinburgh-based) and home working. Age Scotland is a flexible employer, and flexible work patterns are available.
In return for your hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to our values you’ll receive a generous benefits package:
