Job summary

Kirkby High School is seeking an Advanced Level Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion Faculty. The postholder will work with a small group of students in the school's care centre provision, a setting for pupils at risk of permanent exclusion.

The role is 30 hours per week, term-time plus a work-back element, 46 weeks, NJC Grade F, SCP 12-17; salary will reflect SCP scale and terms. Closing date 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Teaching assistant level 3 qualification desirable.
• Level 2 English and maths or equivalent essential.
• Experience with secondary pupils preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Work with a small group of students in the school's care centre provision.
• Support pupils at risk of permanent exclusion and promote inclusion.
• Be flexible and adaptable when engaging disengaged learners.
• Work well in a team and independently to deliver support.
• Follow safeguarding policies and relate well to young people.
