Job summary

Underley Garden School is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join Outcomes First Schools in Kirkby Lonsdale. You will support the personal, social and academic development of pupils across a 24-hour curriculum, working with teachers and pastoral staff.

The role is 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.00pm, starting January 2027. This is a permanent, term-time position for UK applicants only, offering a salary of £23,638 per annum plus travel allowance and a strong safeguarding

Willing to support all aspects of school life.
Driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

Building positive relationships and providing pastoral guidance to promote wellbeing and independence.
Encouraging positive behaviour and applying behaviour support strategies in line with school policies.
Assisting with out‑of‑school learning, trips, events and enrichment activities.
Helping monitor and record progress, contributing to assessment and supporting the completion of student paperwork.
Supporting young people with personal and medical care needs where required.
Contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment across the school day and wider curriculum.
Supporting teachers with learning activities, helping individuals and small groups to engage, progress and achieve.
