Job summary

Cheshire College - South & West is seeking a Progress Mentor to support adult learners at Crewe campuses. You will mentor and provide pastoral support to a caseload, helping learners progress and succeed in their studies.

Applicants should have a Level 3 qualification and GCSEs in English and Maths, with experience mentoring adults and handling welfare issues. DBS check is required; some evenings may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification required.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Experience mentoring or supporting adults.
• Experience handling pastoral/welfare issues is desirable.
• Good organisational and digital literacy skills.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and pastoral support to adult learners to foster belonging and resilience.
• Support wellbeing and appropriate interventions for learners.
• Help learners access online tutorials on personal development, employability, British Values, equality and diversity, PREVENT.
• Coordinate with managers and staff to address pastoral issues and refer when needed.
• Monitor attendance and proactively resolve issues within the cohort.
• Assist with higher education or employment applications, coordinating with curriculum teams.
