PACT, based in Reading with hybrid working, is hiring a part-time Senior Placements Officer to support the adoption team. The role involves finding suitable matches for approved adopters and supervising the placements team.

The position is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, pro-rata salary £24,946–£30,489 per annum, with full-time equivalent £30,768–£37,604. Closing date 23 October 2026. We value safeguarding and collaborative work with local authorities and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• work directly with potential adopters to enable them to find a suitable match, for example by supporting them at profile events
• work with social workers and approved adopters in creating and following up links with external agencies
• promote PACT's adoption service by raising local awareness through networking opportunities, including working closely with partner agencies and local authorities
• act as a guide and mentor to direct reports with escalated queries
