Job summary

Agincare Nightingale care home in the United Kingdom is seeking an Administrator to support daily office tasks, diary management and resident communications within our caring team.

This full-time role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with opportunities to contribute to safeguarding, audits and service development in a welcoming Agincare family.

If you have administrative experience, IT skills, and a proactive approach, you will fit well in our organisation.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work.
  • Experience in an administrative function, ideally in Health & Social Care.
  • Self-motivated and organised with good IT literacy.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the telephone, relay messages and direct calls to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain the office diary and scheduling with access to the manager’s outlook calendar.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and visiting professionals such as GP.
  • Understand safeguarding arrangements and respond to potential abuse appropriately.
  • Ensure all files are up to date and audit-ready.
  • Attend staff meetings to take minutes and disseminate information.

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work

  • You will have be a self-motivated and organised individual with experience within an administrative function, ideally in the Health & Social Care industry. You will be able to demonstrate excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills and have a good level of IT competency.

  • This is a full time position working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

  • A background working within the care sector would be desirable


A day in the life of an Administrator


  • Answer the telephone, take and relay messages and direct calls to the appropriate person

  • Maintain the office diary, scheduling of appointments and meetings as required and do so with access to the manager’s outlook calendar.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and other professional such as GP, DN and others who may visit the home

  • Understand the arrangements for ensuring that residents are safeguarded against the risk of abuse by identifying the possibility of abuse and preventing by responding appropriately.

  • Ensure all files are up to date and ready for auditing as required.

  • Attend staff meetings as required to take minutes for the dissemination of information about the service and service development, peer support and exchange of ideas.
