Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Receptionist/Admin Clerk for the Physiotherapy Department in Liverpool. The post is 37.5 hours per week, Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm, with late clinics on a rota.

The salary is £25,272 per annum, pro rata, and the role is based on site at LUHFT facilities. The successful candidate will handle public-facing reception, bookings, and admin tasks, with excellent communication and keyboard skills, and be proficient in Word/Excel.

Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Receptionist/Admin Clerk to join our administrative team in this busy, friendly department. The postholder will be based within the Physiotherapy Department and cover busy public facing reception desks and back office areas. Therefore applicants must display excellent verbal and written communication skills. Dealing with the public as well as colleagues in person, telephone and email communication is key to this role. This, together with carrying out admin tasks in the office will make this a varied and interesting role. Applicants will need excellent keyboard skills and have the ability to learn a range of computerised systems. The ability to adapt to new environments, be flexible and approachable is essential.

Main duties of the job

Part of a team providing a first class booking and reception service to patients, supporting clinical colleagues and queries.

Provide a telephone service for booking appointments and patient queries.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Assist with clerical support in the day to day running of the office area to ensure Service provision is met.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate filing system, case notes and other relevant documentation.
  • To deal, as appropriate, with enquiries from staff, members of the public in person and by telephone, and visitors to the Service.
  • Assist with photocopying duties as necessary.
  • Receive goods deliveries to the Service, signing appropriate documentation.
  • To provide reception support, as and when required, including receiving and admission of clients to the service and assisting with enquiries.
  • To be responsible for maintaining the administration and storage of data, in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • To take responsibility for good housekeeping in the Office / Reception / Waiting area, ensuring they are kept clean and tidy
