Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a technically minded Business Development Executive to drive new business in the FMCG sector from their Cheshire base. You’ll combine sales with hands-on customer support to improve packaging line performance and build lasting relationships across the UK.

You’ll diagnose packaging line issues, run trials in live environments and present data-driven recommendations. Expect 40 hours/week with significant UK travel.

Qualifications

• Two years of new business sales experience, including FMCG manufacturing.
• Ability to discuss technical challenges with engineering and production teams.
• Proactive, commercially focused approach with strong relationship skills.
• Experience with high-speed packaging equipment, adhesives or coatings is a plus.
• Knowledge of hot melt adhesive systems (Nordson, Valco, Meler, ITW) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Win new business through prospecting, meetings and managing the full sales cycle.
• Diagnose packaging line issues involving cartoners, labellers, sealers and case packers.
• Work lineside to improve OEE, reduce downtime and optimise production efficiency.
• Run product trials in live production environments and validate improvements.
• Recommend consumables, upgrades and system improvements using data-driven reports.
• Support implementation, monitor results and grow existing accounts.
