You will develop and embed learner-centred support strategies, working closely with tutors, quality leads, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning. From shaping support systems to directly influencing learner outcomes, your work will make a real difference.

This is more than a compliance role; it’s a chance to drive culture change, champion inclusion, and create a consistent framework of support that enhances both learner success and staff capability.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Design, lead, and embed Additional Learning Support (ALS) processes across all learning provision.
  2. Ensure timely identification, assessment, and support planning for learners with additional needs.
  3. Provide practical guidance and training for tutors and delivery teams to improve ALS awareness and skills.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver holistic, joined-up support.
  5. Track and monitor ALS impact, producing reports and ensuring funding compliance.
  6. Support the development and management of a growing ALS team.
  7. Maintain accurate records in line with ESFA and SEND requirements.
  8. Promote early intervention strategies and inclusive learning practices across all departments.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. A passionate advocate for inclusive education and learner wellbeing.
  2. A proactive, organised problem-solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Someone with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery.
  4. A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  1. Recognised ALS/SEND qualification at Level 4 or above (or equivalent experience).
  2. Minimum 1-2 years in a similar ALS coordination/support role.
  3. Understanding of SEND legislation, ESFA funding rules, and safeguarding guidance.
  4. Experience working within adult education, employability, or further education settings.
  5. Ability to analyse learner data, evaluate impact, and manage resources effectively.
  6. Confident delivering training and supporting professional development.

Desirable Experience:

  1. Specialist knowledge (e.g., Dyslexia, Autism, Mental Health).
  2. Experience with assistive technologies and remote/blended learning.
  3. Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks and audits.
  4. Background in vocational or work-based learning programmes.

At Pathway Group, we don’t just deliver training; we change lives. This role gives you the platform to shape how additional learning support is delivered across the organisation and influence better outcomes for learners from all walks of life.
