Job summary

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking an experienced Team Leader to manage administration teams within Acute & Diagnostic Services. You will provide day-to-day line management, oversee workloads, support recruitment and staff development, and drive service improvements to ensure efficient, patient-focused administration.

In this role you will collaborate with senior managers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, handle annual leave and sickness, and help redesign workflows to improve service

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or line management experience.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a busy administrative environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supporting administration teams within Acute & Diagnostic Services.
  • Co-ordinating workloads, rotas and service cover to maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Supporting recruitment, induction, training, supervision and development of staff.
  • Managing annual leave, sickness absence and workforce planning.
  • Supporting service redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with senior managers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Resolving issues, managing competing priorities and responding to operational pressures.
  • Contributing to the delivery of a modern, patient-focused administration service.
