Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking an Activity Coordinator at Cygnet Hospital Bierley to support patient engagement in a range of activities and hobbies across four wards. The role is 37.5 hours per week with shifts including alternate weekends and evenings, and involves planning therapy programmes and contributing to a recovery-focused approach.

Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check and will benefit from a company pension, meals on duty, and access to support from a Qualified

Qualifications

• Experience and/or passion for healthcare work, including learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• Creative flair and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in activities and hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes with required materials.
• Contributing ideas and facilitating events and activities safely.

We are looking for an Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bierley.

You will be working 37.5 Hours per week (Shift Times to be agreed but will including alternative weekends and Evenings).

Cygnet Hospital Bierley provides a range of acute and low secure mental health services for men and women.

The hospital is set across four wards offering single-sex male and female specialist mental health services. All our services are provided under the umbrella of a recovery orientated approach and are reviewed through the CPA framework.

Cygnet Hospital Bierley has a true focus on the service user and the over-riding aim of providing the best quality treatment and care possible. The team are committed to delivering care and treatment guided by the principles of a trauma informed approach.

Your Day-to-Day

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We're looking for someone who has

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)
