Job summary

CYGNET Kenney House in Oldham is seeking an Activities Coordinator to support patients by encouraging engagement in activities and assisting with therapy programmes. You will work 40 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, at our women’s mental health hospital.

The role requires healthcare experience, knowledge of Occupational Therapy, and a creative, collaborative approach to recovery and social inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

Be a part of it.We are looking for an outstanding Activities Coordinator with a passion for delivering excellent care.You’ll be working 40 hours per week (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday) at Cygnet Kenney House.We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;Cygnet Kenney House is our hospital for women, located in Oldham. The services provide a safe and secure care pathway for women with mental health need and are now open.We have collaborated with the NHS to develop services to support women from the North West to be treated closer to home.There are three wards at Cygnet Kenney House; Billington Ward, a 12 bed specialist Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Baldock Ward, a 16 bed Acute service and Harben Ward, a 16 bed mental health rehabilitation and recovery service.The PICU and Acute environments offer rapid access to care, supporting women to move quickly and safely through to the most appropriate and least restrictive setting.
