Job summary

CYGNET is seeking an energetic Activity Coordinator to join the team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson. You will support the Occupational Therapist, encourage patient activity, and help run therapy programmes in a secure mental health setting.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm, 40 hours per week, with a DBS check required. Benefits include a company pension, CPD opportunities, and meal provisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• Creative and able to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning and implementing therapy programmes.
• Encourage patients to engage in activities and hobbies.
• Plan and facilitate therapy activities and events safely.
• Contribute ideas and support interdisciplinary care.

Be a part of it.We are looking for a highly motivated Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson.You’ll be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm) making a real positive difference to the lives of people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson.Cygnet Bury Hudson provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder.Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.Your Day-to-Day…We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe mannerWe’re looking for someone who has:• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)Why Cygnet?
