Job summary

CYGNET Hospital Bierley is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support occupational therapy in our acute and low secure mental health services. You will help patients access activities, plan therapy programmes, and contribute ideas for safe events across four wards in a trauma-informed, recovery-focused environment.

The role requires a passion for healthcare, knowledge of occupational therapy, and a collaborative mindset within an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained.
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner.

All our services are provided under the umbrella of a recovery orientated approach and are reviewed through the CPA framework.Cygnet Hospital Bierley has a true focus on the service user and the over-riding aim of providing the best quality treatment and care possible.
