Job summary

Robinwood Activity Centre is seeking an Activity Centre Assistant (Morning) at Barhaugh Hall Activity Centre, Tue/Wed 7:00am–3:00pm during term time. One in four weeks may be a Wednesday only to support the catering team.

The role involves supervising groups of children, assisting with activities such as Zip Wire and Archery, mealtime supervision, catering tasks, and centre upkeep. Safeguarding is taken seriously and an enhanced DBS check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for groups of children between activity sessions and supervise tasks.
• Assist with activity sessions (Zip Wire, Archery, Giant Swing, water sports) to support staff.
• Mealtime supervision of groups of children.
• Assist with morning/evening supervision and liaise with staff, recording information as appropriate.
• Support catering team with food prep and kitchen cleaning, serving children and clearing up.
• Keep the centre clean and maintain high presentation standards.

One in four weeks likely to be a Wednesday only supporting the catering team as a Catering Assistant. About the role of an Activity Centre Assistant:

This role involves:

• Providing support for groups of children between activity sessions. This may include helping with harnesses, buoyancy aid and helmet fitting, provision of waterproofs and other equipment, or other supervisory tasks.
• Providing support on activity sessions such as assisting with Zip Wire, Archery, Giant Swing or water sports support. (No previous experience required, all training is given)
• Mealtime supervision of groups of children
• Assisting with morning or evening supervision of children, reminding children of routines and liaising with other staff, recording information where appropriate.
• Supporting the catering team with food preparation and kitchen cleaning tasks, serving children and clearing up.
• Cleaning around the centre, maintaining high standards of presentation throughout every aspect of the centre

Some previous work with children is useful, as well as excellent customer care skills and the ability to be positive, professional and supportive of others at all times. We take safeguarding very seriously and the successful applicants will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.

£13.65 per hour, increasing to £14.05 per hour following successful completion of a 6-month probation period | 10 hours per week | Paid year-round (annualised hours)
