Job summary

Manor Grange Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking an Activities Coordinator to enhance daily life through engaging, person-centred activities that promote wellbeing and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities, tailored to individual interests and care needs. Training and support are provided for those new to care, with a collaborative team to create a vibrant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individuals’ interests, abilities and care needs.
  • Deliver engaging, meaningful activities to promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.
  • Build strong relationships to understand preferences and enable inclusive participation for all, including those living with dementia.
  • Work as part of the wider team, contributing to a positive and stimulating environment; training provided for applicants new to care.

Job description

Manor Grange Care Home is a purpose built 83 bed care home located in the Pinkhill area of Edinburgh, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative care. The home offers a well established and supportive environment where team members can deliver high quality, person centred care as part of a professional and dedicated team.

  • £12.98 per hour
  • Contracted to 22.5 hours per week
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
