Job summary

Guthrie House Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking an Activities Coordinator to design and lead a vibrant activity programme for residents. You will organise group events, accompany residents in social engagements and drive meaningful participation, tailored to individual interests.

The role focuses on wellbeing, creative engagement, and building relationships with residents, families and staff, with a supportive team and opportunities to make a real difference.

Qualifications

  • Must have a sociable, creative and engaging personality.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan activity programmes.
  • Genuine passion for supporting the wellbeing of older people.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and encourage participation.
  • Confidently lead activities, events and group sessions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Organise group activities and celebrations for residents.
  • Create one-to-one engagement to support individual residents.
  • Encourage residents to continue hobbies and interests.
  • Develop engaging social programmes to enhance wellbeing and quality of life.

Job description

Guthrie House Care Home, located in Edinburgh, provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative Care in a warm and welcoming environment. Set in the peaceful surroundings of South East Edinburgh, the home is known for its compassionate approach, strong community spirit, and dedication to delivering exceptional care.

  • £12.99per hour
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Fridat 9AM-5PM - Although flexibility required to cover evenining activities anf occassional weekends.
  • Paid PVG pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based a full time contract)

  • Previous experience in activities, events, hospitality, care or customer facing roles is beneficial but not essential
