Job summary

Etive House Care Home in the Oban area is seeking an Activities Coordinator to deliver engaging, meaningful, person-centred activities that promote wellbeing and social interaction for residents. You will plan and run a varied programme, tailoring activities to individual interests and abilities while building strong relationships with residents and their families.

The role welcomes applicants with or without prior care experience and offers training and support to help you grow in the position,

Qualifications

  • Creative and organised approach to activity planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging group and one-to-one activities.
  • Interest in supporting older people, including those living with dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities.
  • Build relationships with residents to understand preferences and support inclusive participation.
  • Work as part of the wider team to create a positive, stimulating environment.
  • Provide training and support as needed to develop in the role.

Job description

Located in the beautiful village of Benderloch by Oban, we offer small group living accommodation for up to 62-residents.

  • £14.06 per hour
  • Contracted to 40 hours per week
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life by delivering engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction.

You will plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one to one activities, tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs. Building strong relationships is essential, enabling a clear understanding of preferences and supporting inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.

Working as part of the wider team, the role contributes to a positive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, active and connected. This role is open to both experienced candidates and those new to care, with training and support provided to help you develop in the role.

What We Are Looking For

  • A creative, organised and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities
  • A genuine interest in supporting older people
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
