Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Cambridge is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join the team on a fixed-term contract. The role involves delivering letters and parcels, wearing the iconic red Royal Mail van, and working on a rotating shift including weekends.

Training, a uniform, and a warm community environment are provided. The position requires a full UK driving licence, the ability to pass a driving assessment, and physical fitness to walk long distances and lift mailbags.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Be physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with good organisation.
• Strong resilience in a busy environment and pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
