Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Matlock is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 9-month fixed-term contract. You will sort and deliver letters and parcels in your local area, using a Royal Mail van and walking routes.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, fitness for long walks, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather on a rotating schedule including Sundays. Training and a uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances and lift mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work outdoors in all weathers.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
