Job summary

Royal Mail in Glasgow is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our flexible team serving the G43 & G46 delivery area. You will drive a Royal Mail van and deliver letters and parcels, with parts of the route completed on foot, across your designated area.

We expect a full, manual UK driving licence with up to six points, plus the fitness to walk long distances (around 20,000 steps per day) and lift up to 16 kg mailbags. Shifts vary, and you must adapt quickly to changing schedules.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points you'll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• As a Post Person with Driving, you'll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine.
• You'll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.
• You're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items in line with Royal Mail business standards.
• This role is more than just a job; it's a vital service at the heart of every neighbourhood.
