Job summary

Pertemps Leeds is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Finance team in Goole. The role involves processing supplier invoices, addressing payment queries and ensuring timely, accurate transactions.

The ideal candidate will have solid accounts payable knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a busy workload. Temporary position through January 2027 with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year’s experience in accounts payable.
• Proficient in invoice processing and supplier reconciliations.
• Experience using SAP/VIM is desirable.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• GCSE-level education or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
• Good communication with suppliers and colleagues.
• Reliable and practical approach to resolving queries.

Responsibilities

• Process 350+ supplier invoices per week accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Use SAP/VIM to scan, register and process invoices, including matching invoices to purchase orders.
• Monitor invoice workflows and follow up on parked and blocked invoices to ensure payments are not delayed.
• Process company expenses and ONE BACS transactions.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to supplier and internal queries, escalating issues to the Accounts Payable Manager as needed.
• Ensure invoices are processed in line with company procedures and financial controls.
• Maintain accurate records and support the smooth running of the Accounts Payable function.
• Assist with general administrative duties, including opening post and filing.
• Support the Finance team with additional duties as required.
