Astute Recruitment is recruiting a Temporary Accounts Payable Clerk to join an established business based in the NG17 area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger or Accounts Payable experience who can hit the ground running and provide reliable, hands‑on support to a busy finance team.

The successful candidate will be comfortable processing a high volume of supplier invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and helping ensure the purchase ledger runs

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger roles.
• Experience processing supplier invoices in a busy finance environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accurate records.
• Experience with supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication with suppliers and internal colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Coding, matching and posting invoices onto the accounting system.
• Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and supplier accounts.
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
• Responding to supplier queries and resolving invoice-related issues.
• Supporting the finance team with month-end activities and outstanding invoice queries.
• Ensuring invoices are processed within agreed timescales and providing general accounts administration.
